“This event was held remotely in my first year, and unfortunately, I missed it. But the following year, it was in person, and that was a decisive moment – the company was very supportive, and I was approached to apply for a traineeship. I was already working in another company then, but I realised there were limited development opportunities. After listening to the positive feedback from my coursemates about Latvijas Finieris, I decided to give it a try ,”

says Jēkabs.

He started his mechatronics apprenticeship in March, which lasted until mid-May, when he was offered a summer job.

“Given the positive experience during my traineeship and the trust given by my colleagues, I applied for the position of constructor. Now in my fourth year of study, I have successfully combined my studies with a permanent job, which is providing excellent experience ,”

continues the young man.

“I make models of the equipment on a daily basis, coordinating them with managers and colleagues. Once everything is approved, I draw up the blueprints and put them into production. If there are any issues or adjustments that need to be made during the process, I communicate with the production team and assembly specialists to make sure everything works smoothly. It’s a dynamic and collaborative job that allows for continuous development ,”

says Jēkabs, adding that what he appreciates most about the company is its stability – both financial and professional, the supportive and responsive colleagues, as well as the fact that Latvijas Finieris offers opportunities for growth and development.
