Our safety tools
Safety at work is not just a rule, it’s a value!
Personal protective equipment
We provide personal protective equipment (PPE) – gloves, hearing protection, respirators, etc. – for every production worker. PPE is also mandatory for administration staff, guests and service providers when visiting the production area.
Regular safety surveillance rounds
We conduct regular safety days at all Latvijas Finieris units. They raise employees’ awareness of the importance of safety issues, identify unsafe situations and risky behaviour early and help to find solutions to the problems identified.
Safety training
We regularly train employees in occupational health and fire safety. We provide additional training for personnel operating hazardous equipment and for forklift truck drivers. There is also regular training in electrical safety and first aid.
Recording and investigation of near-misses
To detect unsafe working conditions and dangerous acts early, and to avoid near-misses and accidents, employees are encouraged to report hazards by submitting individual safety reports online.
Safety for guests and service providers
Guests and service providers may only visit the production area and premises of Latvijas Finieris after they have received an online briefing and a certificate for passing a knowledge test.
