To mark World Environment Day, on June 4, 2021, the State Environmental Service presented the annual awards for environmental protection “Green Excellence 2021”. We are proud that in the nomination “Green Excellence Award in Agriculture, Forestry and Woodworking” the award was received by the company of “Latvijas Finieris” group RSEZ SIA “Verems”.

“The basic principle of our green thinking is a responsible attitude towards all who are involved – to work responsibly, to earn responsibly and to use natural resources responsibly. There are no wood residues in “Verems” mill. Anything that does not become plywood is then used to produce other products or energy. We are in balance with the environment. We were the first in Latvia to show that even large industrial buildings can be built of wood. We treat energy resources responsibly. We introduce the most modern woodworking equipment and fuel gas collectors. We are gradually moving to electric transport. We are convinced that the future is based on the transition to renewable and environmentally friendly materials.”
