The project represents a significant step toward strengthening the Group’s production capacity and long-term development in Estonia.

The expansion of the Kohila Vineer mill will further strengthen the Group’s industrial capabilities and support the efficient use of wood resources across its production network. The investment forms part of the long-term development strategy of the Latvijas Finieris Group, focused on reinforcing industrial capacity and fostering sustainable growth across the Baltic and Nordic region. At the same time, the project underscores the Group’s ongoing commitment to modern industrial development and economic activity in Estonia.

The Municipality of Kohila has issued the permit required to begin construction on the expansion project. With the construction contract with leading Estonian construction company Maru Ehitus AS signed on 7 August, and works potentially commencing in late August, the Kohila Vineer expansion is now moving into the implementation phase. The new production line will be operational at the beginning of 2028.

The expansion is designed by Norte OÜ, and the architectural design is carried out by Loob Projekt OÜ.

Kohila Vineer does not foresee an increase in log consumption in Estonia and expects to rely on peeled raw material sourced from other countries in the region, given the current uncertainty surrounding Estonia’s forestry policy framework and its impact on the operating environment.
