04.12.2024
Sergejs Kuznetsovs and his mother Kristina Kuznetsova, both employees at Latvijas Finieris, share their experiences and reflections on working at one of Latvia’s leading industrial companies. Sergeys works as a maintenance technician at the Lignums mill, while Kristina is a reactor operator at the Chemical Products Plant.
Sergejs Kuznetsovs: A Commitment to Growth
Sergejs Kuznetsovs has been working at the Lignums mill since March 2020, where he is a maintenance technician. His journey with Latvijas Finieris began with a short stint at the Latvijas Finieris’ Iekārtu rūpnīca, following a successful internship that led to a job offer at the Lignums mill. Sergejs enjoys the diverse experiences his role offers. He thrives on the unique challenges that arise daily, requiring innovative solutions to keep production running smoothly.
“Almost every day brings a new situation that needs resolving, which is what makes the job so enriching,”
Sergejs says.
The constant introduction of new equipment and technologies keeps him engaged and continuously learning. Looking ahead, Sergejs is determined to advance his qualifications and climb the career ladder at Latvijas Finieris.
Sergejs chose Latvijas Finieris Group on the recommendation of a friend who had completed an internship there. The chance to combine work with ongoing studies was a significant factor in his decision. He is motivated by his supervisor with whom he shares a strong rapport.
“There’s a real atmosphere of trust within the team,”
Sergejs notes, emphasising the importance of a stable and reliable employer like Latvijas Finieris.
Kristina Kuznetsova: Building a Future with Latvijas Finieris
Kristina Kuznetsova has been with Latvijas Finieris since 2011. Her career began at the Lignums mill as a veneer assembly operator, followed by three years as a veneer drying equipment operator. She then transitioned to the Chemical Products Plant, where she currently works as a reactor operator in the Synthetic Resins Unit.
Kristina moved to the nearby neighbourhood as a teenager and heard glowing reviews about Latvijas Finieris from her friends, who praised it as a stable and desirable workplace. Although she had heard that securing a position at Latvijas Finieris was challenging due to the high number of applications, she applied nonetheless and was thrilled to receive an offer.
“Latvijas Finieris offers quality health insurance, stable pay, and social guarantees. The company’s reliability gives me confidence in the future,”
she says.
When Kristina joined Latvijas Finieris, no other family members were working there. However, later her son Sergejs decided to apply. Although they work in different departments and do not often collaborate, Kristina is proud that Sergejs has forged his own path within the company.
“Latvijas Finieris is a youth-friendly workplace, and it was important to me that my son could work while continuing his studies,”
she adds.
Life Outside of Work
Outside of work, Sergejs enjoys reading, particularly the “World of Warcraft” book series, which complements his interest in video games. He is also passionate about spending time with his family. Kristina, on the other hand, is an avid fishing enthusiast. During the summer, she and her friends, who share her love for the sport, often go fishing on Lake Babīte. These outings usually end with a barbecue, offering a chance to relax and enjoy nature.
Family time for Kristina means long walks and working together in the family garden. Although her children are now grown and spend most of their time with friends, Kristina cherishes the moments she spends with her parents, enjoying the outdoors and tending to their garden.
