Last year Latvijas Finieris Executive Board started to work on company’s development strategy 2020-2027.

“The main priorities for coming years were clearly noticeable – product development and process efficiency. Therefore, a decision has been made to establish a new sector from 1 February 2020 – Development and Research sector.”

Māris Būmanis, Latvijas Finieris Board Member, will be the Head of this new sector.

“Improving the quality of plywood and adding value to by-products will play a great role in product development and diversification. Further development of RIGA ECOlogical glue and resins will be pursued, gradually replacing fossil-based raw materials with bio-based solutions, including lignin.”

He emphasizes that Development and Research sector goal is to ensure higher added value to each cubic meter of processed wood and to provide an excellent service to company’s customers. As well as to pay higher attention to process efficiency and productivity – a key factor to increase competitiveness in the global birch plywood market.
